Relive your childhood with a Doraemon themed event

Happening from 11 Oct to 1 Nov, Takashimaya will be launching a Doraemon-themed merchandise event! Fans of the robot neko can expect event-exclusive products ranging from gift items, snacks, books, and even bags too. True-blue fans won’t miss the chance to bag the event-exclusive shirts at this one-time event, which will be held at Takashimaya Department Store’s Basement One.


Preview indie films at SJ 50 Film Festival

In celebration of 50 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Japan, there’ll be a SJ50 Film Festival with screenings of short films from Singapore and Japan. Grab yourself a seat at the Asian Civilisation Museum, where Red Dot Cinema will be screening the pictures on 21, 22, and 28 October. Tickets are free, so head on down for a night of culture with local and Japanese indie films.

Strut your stuff at the 16th Harajuku Fashion Walk Singapore

Individuality is the name of the game at the 16th Harajuku Fashion Walk Singapore, as fashionistas display their take on Japanese fashion and flaunt it on the streets of Singapore. Happening on 29 October, the fashion walk will start at the National Museum of Singapore and end outside rchard Road’s Takashimaya. What’s more, expect a treat this year with a catwalk featuring the latest trends in Harajuku in lieu of the SJ50 celebrations happening around Singapore!

Book your dream vacation at the Japan Travel Fair

Always dreamed of travelling to Japan? Head down to Takashimaya’s Basement 2 between 28 to 30 October, and be spoilt for choice by the plethora of travel destinations such as Hokkaido, Okinawa, Shizuoka, and Kanagawa, organised by well-known agencies like JR East, Heisei Enterprise, and Fuji-Q Group. Asides from the tour booths, you can also expect fun activities such as balloon sculpting, candy making, as well as a sharing sesh with local celeb Michelle Chong about her travelling experience around Japan. We’re betting that the famous bear-like mascot Kumamon will be a huge hit at the fair!

Anime Festival Asia is here again!

It’s almost November, and you know what that means – it’s time for the annual Anime Festival Asia! Happening across three days from 25-27 November, the AFA schedule is gonna be jam-packed with imported Japan merchandise, cosplayers, and concerts! Returning to the stage for the concert are popular groups like TM Revolution, May’n, and JAM Project, as well as performers such as Chico from Honeyworks too. Stoked yet? We predict that this year’s AFA is going to be more explosive than the previous ones with this year’s lineup, so excuse us while we scramble to be the first in line for our tickets!
